MENTAL HEALTH TRAINING COURSES

 

Companies & Employers all do Risk Assessments, Fire Assessments and First Aid needs assessments to protect their business and employees for physical harm at the workplace.

The problem that most forget is the Mental Health of the Workforce, this is harder to manage since GOOD & BAD Mental Health is not just work related and can be caused by many external factors out of your control.
Creating a supportive environment could save money – helping to reduce long term and short term absences, a happier more productive workplace and staff retention.

 

At SPR Training we provide three Levels of Mental Health at Work Courses, a Level that meets the needs of the work force;

• QNUK Level: 1 Mental Health Awareness and stress (½ day),
• QNUK Level 2: Mental Health at Work – Awareness with Stress and Information on Conditions (1 day) and the
• QNUK Level 3: Mental Health at Work (2 days) course that also includes dealing with harmful coping mechanisms and dealing with a mental health crisis as well as a few other topics.

he two day course is really designed for HR and anybody who is providing support, managers who wish to understand Mental Health – we suggest a max. 2 or 3 folk attended this course from a company at a time and therefore better run as an Open course.

These courses are regulated courses with Qualifications Network as an Awarding Body, who only allow experienced trainers to deliver this course. There is NO expiry date, but 3 year refresher is recommend and it is NOT just certificate of attendance.

Some companies market this course as First Aid for Mental Health or similar , we believe these courses are about creating an educated workforce about Mental Health, helping the early recognition and support of folk who are suffering and by creating a more open and supportive environment for all, and knowing how to signpost and act in a mental health crisis.
